A new search engine for pharmacists

Searchmedica.co.uk, the medical search engine originally developed for GPs, has developed a new version for pharmacists.

In response to demand from other healthcare professionals for tools to help them find relevant medical information o

nline, SearchMedica has been developed to offer tailored searching for pharmacists, as well as nurses and medical students.

The new
pharmacist addition to SearchMedica has been created in consultation with the C+D team and practising pharmacists, and will enable you to not only narrow your search scope, but also filter your results, so you find what you need more easily, from trusted sources.

5 Reasons SearchMedica is different from generic search engines:

  • Results displayed with the most relevant AND most recent first
  • The ‘sites chosen by pharmacists’ search option enables you to search only authoritative sites so you can have confidence in the source of information
  • Searches for relevant medical information only, so you don’t have to worry about dubious sites or irrelevant links
  • Groups results into categories, such as Guidelines and Regulation, to enable you to locate what you need more easily
  • In-built thesaurus means, for example, if you type ‘retinol’ into SearchMedica you will also get results that also contain the term ‘vitamin A’

SearchMedica enables you to accurately search the whole of the internet with just one search. Try it for yourself at www.searchmedica.co.uk
