Cambrian wins Ryder Cup pharmacy project

Gavin Atkin

Independent pharmacy support group Cambrian Alliance has been contracted to manage the on-site pharmacy at the Ryder Cup at Newport in October.

Cambrian is to work with the Ryder Cup organisers to build, stock and manage a facility that expects to see more than 1,000 visitors during the event.

The on-site pharmacy will include a private consultation room and will be stocked with a wide range of prescription medicines in addition to over-the-counter products such as painkillers, anti-histamines and sun-care products.

Cambrian Alliance chairman Mark Griffiths said the group was proud to be managing the pharmacy at the event, which is expected to attract around 45,000 spectators a day.

"Ryder Cup Europe is working with as many Welsh companies as possible as we build up to this year’s match,’ added Assistant Championship Director Antonia Beggs.
