Kingston University student Martin Rayner has won the British Pharmaceutical Students' Association Responding to Symptoms competition.

Mr Rayner, a third year undergraduate, was congratulated on his achievement by David Mitchell and Edward McReynolds of McNeil Products, which has supported the competition for fifteen years.
The three runners up were Monica D Sudra, Mohammad Raziq and May Ting.
Open to all pharmacy undergraduates, Responding to Symptoms involves a role-play scenario that enables students demonstrate their clinical and communication skills. Initial heats are held to select individuals to represent their schools.
The final competition scenario, which was based on a patient wishing to stop smoking, was incorporated into the BPSA Annual Conference.
