Counterstart is an induction course for pharmacy counter staff supported by Reckitt Benckiser. It is aimed at new staff, to equip them with the basic knowledge required to work in a pharmacy safely.
Counterstart covers the following areas: - My pharmacy and the pharmacy team
- Customer service
- Privacy
- Safety at work
- Selling medicines safely
- Dealing with prescriptions.
Successful completion of the course will result in the student being certificated as a pharmacy sales assistant.
Counterstart students are eligible for a £5 discount on the Counterpart Medicines Counter Assistant course, subject to their supervising pharmacist signing them up at the end of the Counterstart pharmacy induction programme.
Course Materials Students who register for the Counterstart induction course will receive a study guide, which contains information to read and a series of activities for the student to work through.
The Counterstart induction course is assessed via a set of multiple choice questions. The answers to these questions are marked using a telephone marking system. Cost The cost of the Counterstart induction course for pharmacy counter staff is £17.63 (including VAT) for each student. The cost covers course materials, assessment and certification.
