The payment structure is a complete shambles!
Did anyone who actually works in a community pharmacy on a day to day basis have any input into this? I very much doubt it!
Why does the DoH and the PSNC have to make everything so complicated?
Community pharmacy is a very busy place, we don't have time for complicated! SIMPLE is the key word Mr Buxton!!!
Repeat after me..... SIMPLE!

Put more resources behind it says a member of the senate. Has he ever worked in a community pharmacy where poor funding has led to it current state. Are the senators a true representative of pharmacy? C&D it's a sam that you are no impartial and have failed to get the right balance of views. RIP Independent Community Pharmacy.

Grandmaster Caine,

The participants in this Senate debate were selected to ensure input from all sectors of the profession, and included employers (large multiples), employers (small multiples), independents, employees, and independent pharmacy support groups.

The full list is:

Chris Perrington, superintendent pharmacist, Sainsbury’s
Alastair Buxton, head of NHS services, PSNC
Mimi Lau, director of professional and training services, Numark
Gavin Birchall, superintendent pharmacist, MedicX Pharmacy
Patrick Grice, projects director, Chemist+Druggist
Michael Cann, president, BGMA
Garry Michaels, pharmacist, The Health Pharmacy, Bushey Heath
Ravi Vaitha, pharmacist, Kamsons Pharmacy, Crawley

I agree with G.master Caine and Anon Emus. The community pharmacy which I manage is already working flat out trying to cope with increasing prescription volumes as well as the ever increasing paperwork/beaurocracy that blights our lives. We do NOT have any spare resources to implement the NMS.......the fees generated by the NMS would be most unlikely to cover the increase in staff hours demanded.
