Kash Butt has given very sound advice to all pharmacists when looking for a position and it is a worrying time in all sectors of pharmacy practice.

In particular 'passion' for clinical services, retail and dispensing are three fronts which need to be attacked simultaneously. Given the returns on clinical and dispensing services is under funded, retailing is just as important.

A sound knowledge of P medicines, link selling, best value and quality on health and beauty put cash in the till and pay our wages. I took a detour into the hospital sector and did a PGDip in Clinical Pharmacy & MSc in Presrcribing Studies and await possible redundancy frrom PCT as an AO/Practice support pharmacist.

I am glad that I kept a foot in community as I have started gradually switching over to more days as an employee community pharmacist. It is a case of adapting to survive and a job is a job.

So, take note of Kate's advice it is sound...
