I would wonder why any burglar would bother with the owings bags? They are more likely to target your perfumes, CDs (including benzodiazepines) and cash. However, if this was the case, the only thing you can do is contact each of the affected patients and make them aware of the situation. I think you are much more likely to run in to problems/complaints if you do nothing

1. Check CCTV footage
2. Inform insurance company
3. Assess loss (as the owner, you should probably have some idea of what the stock level of certain drugs are)
4. Arrange glass company to repair damage
5.Do CD check if required and arrange for new cabinet
6. Inform local health board of situation so that they are aware of a theft of benzodiazepine and possible prescriptions.
7. Tidy pharmacy and look out for any evidence left behind
8. Check the computer system to see what prescriptions may have possibly been taken.
Check recent balances to see if they are still in pharmacy (in our pharmacy, collected balances are stamped). If not, then inform GP.

What else have I missed?

Tidy up, get the glass replaced, try to trace any owings that might have been stolen and inform the patients and doctors surgeries over possible theft, get CD cabinet fixed, and open as usual at 8 o'clock. This has happened on to us on several occasions (although uncollected owings / scripts are not usually touched) and we carry on regardless.
