There is absolutely no need to perform pharmacy level checks on individual packs of medicines.

If the pharmacy has bought their drugs from a reputable wholesaler, it is the wholesalers responsibilty to guarantee that they have sourced the drugs from the correct manufacturer.

The QP in each wholesaler is already responsible for ensuring that they are stored, supplied etc in a proper manner. Surely they must take the next step and guarantee that they are from a legitimate source if they are a PI. (which is the main issue of concern).

We must not let another layer of officialdom be added to our workload. with no benefit. How many patients have been given fake medicines from a pharmacy in the UK? I think the answer is NIL.
