HINTS + TIPS TO HELP WITH YOUR C+D AWARDS ENTRY

  • Assume nothing – don’t forget to tell the judges that you are a prescriber, a pharmacist with a special interest or that you only work part-time. Remember they can only judge you on what you tell them so SPELL it out

  • Read the category text carefully and provide the requested information.

  • Keep the message clear. Bullet points, sub-heads and short punchy sentences make it easier to present your case. Jargon and acronyms will bore and confuse the judges

  • Use hard data to substantiate your claims wherever possible

  • Testimonials from service users/colleagues/healthcare professionals help to sell your entry to the judges

  • Don’t be afraid to sell yourself – make sure your passion comes through

  • Use all of the 500 words - they're free to use.

  • Plan your entry - don't just string it together.

When compiling your entry, you may - where applicable - wish to consider areas such as:

  • How the idea was researched

  • What you did to make it stand out

  • What feedback you received

  • What difference you/the service made

  • How the service integrated pharmacy into patient care networks

  • How the service utilised staff and the training taken up

  • How IT was used

  • How the service was marketed and service users recruited

  • How the service was funded on launch

  • How the services promote pharmacy

  • How successful (financial, footfall, profile) the service was

  • How long the service has been running and how it has grown

  • How successfully the service has been adopted by others

  • How it fits in with local and national targets
