Rationale

A copy of a patient's medication record must be supplied to the patient within 40 days of receipt of a written request, made either in printed or electronic form. A maximum fee of £10 can be charged for a computer print-out. There is no minimum period that must elapse between requests for access, although there is no obligation to give access again until a reasonable interval has elapsed. What is a reasonable interval is a matter of judgement and may depend on circumstances.
