Forget about disruption during the olympics. How many county councils are having emergency meetings trying to work out contingency plans for the disruption the olympic torch procession might cause?

I reckon the farce presented on the BBC comedy 2012 last year and this is spot on.

If you have not watched it, check it out on the BBC iplayer. Hilarious.

This isn't about how much time pharmacies have had to prepare, this is about councils, LOCOG and TfL not communicating exact planned disruptions and offers of assistance - the main reason being that they don't want to commit to stating anything in case it doesn't work out and then they'll be blamed... Much of London will be closed down transport-wise, some areas of London and Surrey will suffer the same, but only on certain days... also, the impact of the additional however many million people incoming to the City and so many diversions and disruptions to traffic will have a knock-on effect to the whole of London and Greater London...

I'd be interested to hear what advice Pharmacy owners in London has received regarding deliveries to their stores, particularly independents who can't afford to hire someone to stay in the shop for a delivery between midnight - 6am!!
