Sounds like a cheap way for day Lewis to raise money. And a benefit perhaps to a naive buyer. Hope it works well for both. Buyer beware of the small print.

This could be an absolutely brilliant way for Kirit/Day Lewis to boost their wholesaling business with only 50% of ownership. Its a win/win for Daylewis. They have an owner/manager to make sure their investment is safe and also they get access to the pharmacies stock for wholesaling.

Well done Kirit, Bravo.

This is a 50/50 deal but surely its a 50/50 deal on the loan/debt, plus a 2% management fee, which will contribute nicely to the loan costs of Day Lewis and as has been said already will increase Day Lewis wholesale business.

Partnerships in my experience are notoriously difficult to succeed , I favour greater financial incentives to pharmacy employees generous bonus's that increase a pharmacists salary 25/ 50% if pharmacy hits growth & profit targets . . To be honest i think it will create greater incentive to purchase well & improve the prosperityof the sector

an investment in return for 50% of the business shares- um very "Dragons Den"!
i wonder if day lewis are willing to negotiate as anyone wanting to start up a business and be the boss will never want to give up so much autonomy.
Mr Patel should be asking for 49% or less.

Orridge Business Sales welcome and support the Day Lewis Share Partnership Scheme, as any assistance given to young pharmacists is to be applauded but we must point out that our opinion differs on present pharmacy values. In our experience, pharmacy values are not at “rock bottom” in fact, over the last 12 months, the average price paid for a pharmacy through our agency has been 40% UP on 2010 and now stands at over £1,000,000. Of course, whilst these transfers might not all be suitable for first time buyers, the market has shown considerable demand right across the range for well located, strong pharmacy businesses. Business is booming and money is available to lend – even for First Time Buyers. We will shortly be releasing more detailed information on how our pharmacy transfers this year compare with those in 2010.
Kirit says “this is the best time to get into pharmacy”…we must agree!
