Jennifer Richardson: Quality of remuneration is essential

To be fair - though we all expect our salaries to be correct, I suspect there isn't one pharmacist out there who doesn't regularly work over their hours for no remuneration, or do paperwork in an unpaid break, or deliver a prescription on the way home, or look something up for a patient on their home computer? We all do over and above what we are paid for because we care about our patients - that is why we chose to be pharmacists. As an employee pharmacist I know the company which employs me expects these extras for our patients, so they shouldn't complain when the NHS expects the same from them.
