GSK recalls two lamotrigine batches
Two batches of Lamictal 200mg have been recalled by manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline after tablets were found to have delayed dissolution.
The issue, which affects only two batches of the anticonvulsant, is "unlikely" to affect plasma concentrations, but there is a "very low" risk of reduced efficacy, the manufacturer has advised.
The affected stock is as follows:
Lamictal (lamotrigine) 200mg tablets
Batch nos: PJ1925 and PJ1926
Expiry dates: 31 August, 2013
Pharmacists should quarantine affected stock and return it through their wholesaler.
