Once again the PSNC is signinig us up for lots of extra paperwork without delivering any new funding. On top of existing requirements we will now have to write another series of SOPs with which the PCTs will come and examine us and take up more of our time. I wonder if thisis going to be the straw that breaks the Camel's Back.

Looks very bureaucratic and smells like a nightmare!

Agree with R K.Multiples are the biggest culprits, demanding at least some MUR's are done everyday.Locums are forced to do MUR's otherwise.....
Tha main pharmacists or the pharmacist managers get the pat on their backs and may be a good bonus at the end of the year where as the locums get -" either do it or else..."

Once again the supine PSNC accede to more bureaucratic claptrap, more clinical governance? whistleblowing? what next? snooping? big brother? And just what is the GPhC, the RPS and the NPA doing to stop the onwards march of more and more bureaucracy? For Goodness sakes why can't we just be allowed to get on with our jobs, they are called patients! Remember them?

This is a very positive move, and hopefully will be accepted by GPs as much more worthwhile than the current MUR process. National SOPs, training, etc. can be developed to minimise any extra bureaucracy.

The changes made are desirable & necessary. Implications to the profession will certainly raise our image and thereto our status in the delivering of the Health Care in the NHS. However, the only reservation I have is " Would we be adequately rewarded financially?"
