With this level of incompetence would any other business survive! This is only the status quo because we contractors have towed the line and accepted what this monopolistic Government Dept hands out!
All the major supermarkets give you an itemised bill before you have finished packing your purchases, however tthe PPD claims this is not feasible for priced prescriptions even after two months delay!!

Unfortunately these 'errors' in payment are going to continue as there is NO indication that the PPA are in any hurry to ditch this discredited system and the useless PSNC do not have the courage or conviction to put any pressure on the DOH to do so.

ps I wonder if anyone at the PPA got the sack or even a reprimand for introducing CIP

There is no incentive for the PPA to be accurate. The bosses are not penalised for errors. I supect they got a bonus for reducing costs by making staff redundant. Can we ask for their bonus details via FOI?

We make an error and it's FRAUD, the PPD make an error and they fail to meet their accuracy target. Next time the counterfraud visit, we should apologise that we failed to meet our 100% accuracy target in submitting payments correctly and request a VARIANCE for errors, as we after all human not a CIP omputer.

Why can't we have data- on line if necessary- like the GP PACT data? GP practices get a breakdown of everything they prescribe from the pricing bureau- so it should not be very difficult to send us a breakdown of what each pharmacy dispensed..
That way we could examine our own data and work out if anything has gone very wrong.
It probably only requires a little intelligent computer programming.
