Well learn from the past don't do anymore for free! PCT services are winding down and many pharmacists don't feel the need to be re-accredited for existing local services. Commissioning will be an exclusive minority interest sport with diminishing returns for pharmacy, best bids will be corporate, co-operative or consortia based.

Focus on supply role as this is increasing in volume and services that directly underpin supply i.e. NMS and MURs. The rest have no longevity as PCTs fade away. even the NHS and MURs have only a finite funding for two years.

It looks pretty grim on all fronts for the whole profession over supply of pharmacists, cut backs in NHS primary and secondary and no long term strategy for the community sector.

The government wants a cheap supply for medicines with no value added except poorly funded public health and adherence roles.
