The British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association is the representative body for pharmacy students and preregistration trainees in Great Britain and we are proud to be working closely with the General Pharmaceutical Council to promote the views of our members.

The BPSA, like the GPhC, recognises there are things that need to be changed with regards to the preregistration training year. Our members have formed a number of policy statements concerning the training year and the Executive of the BPSA are keen to action these policies. Working with organisations such as the GPhC is one of the key ways we intend to do this.

You can read more about how the BPSA represents students and preregistration trainees on the representation section of our website: http://bit.ly/BPSArepresentation

As far as prereg training is concerned, I cant nderstand why theres no check on the performance of tutors? Its very easy to explain the role of the tutor and student in papers but it becomes extremely difficult for trainees when they work with a fear that they have to say yes yes yes, otherwise they will be reported . Im not saying that every tutor is like that . there have been excellent tutors praised by students and vice versa but whos checking tuttors performance ? what if students feel that there tutors ,some of them who dont even bother to check performance standards through out the pre reg year and just sign their student off ? please be realistic. We are not playing with dolls, We have responsibilities of human lives in our hands!
