People should be paid on their ability not how old they are.
I'm paying over £6 per hour to staff who don't even produce £3.00 per hour.

Now why would retailers want to to limit the increase on how much a potential employer could earn? I just can't think of a reason. Though, being serious ~ I thought that sector's ability to create and maintain employment was already compromised, or at least struggling with certain chains and independents if the articles on this website are to be believed.

I respect Mr. Patel's opinion and I agree with their ability should be reflected positively in their wages, compared to the flat rate that a lot of companies are opting for. If there's a problem with staff not providing a equilateral workload output, one would assume that perhaps there is either a surplus of labour, or a lack of motivation along the line. Both of which are issues that Mr Patel as a Pharmacist Manager should be able to solve either through negotiation, action or a combination of the two.
