Allergy preventatives business eyes pharmacy expansion

After a successful launch in some pharmacies, Bio-Life International has appointed Trinity Sales and Marketing to distribute its allergy preventative products to the sector.
Approved by Allergy UK and the NPA, Bio-Life's homecare range is designed to "encapsulate and neutralise" dustmite, pet and pollen allergens that can cause allergic reactions in humans and pets.

Until now, Bio-Life has had only a small presence in pharmacy, but a spokesperson for the company said pharmacies stocking the homecare range were selling around £1,000 worth of products a month.

Pharmacists wishing to stock the range can take advantage of free marketing materials, including window posters, leaflets and display units.

And the business offers training courses for pharmacy staff, and an allergy helpline from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

The homecare range features AirCleanse, which is an aerosol that reduces allergens in the air such as pollen, pet and mould spores, alongside pet cleansers that remove the allergens from the coats of cats, dogs and other small animals without the need for bathing.

Other products are designed to treat mattresses and sofas that are infested with dustmites, and for cleaning laundry and carpets.

Products come in packs of six and for pharmacy range in price from £5.10 to £6.95 per unit.
