I'm all for the additional responsibility but as always this Shift in Funding has to be New Funding for the extra work we are required to undertake. Not an adaptation to a famous saying: "pile the work high and sell our profession cheap".

We need to stress some realism here there is only so much our staff can do as it is. If you want to expand our work load then pay us a guaranteed increase for that work so that we can create a proper safe frame work around it and then deliver the results.

This was the case recently with the Swine flu outbreak, with proper funding Pharmacy delivered the correct outcome and we were congratulated for it.

Let's see if we get an opinion on this, unlike the last contract where we sold down the river. If this shift is reduced dispensing fees and reimbursement and more unfair complex payment structures for services like NMS then I fear we are in for a complete disaster. The only "intervention" required will be switching the lights off on the way out!

Once again another useless proposal!

The lack of regulation in the industry when it comes to providing an optimal well rounded approach to patients should be looked at.

Pharmacy FOS regulation is a sham. Holding a PBS number should come with restrictions and regulations as to having acceptable inventory and staff qualifications.

Instead of rewarding the qualifications and expertise of the industry, we turn them into paper monkeys for the benefit of a few.

We welcome the added responsibilities, but this is only a fraction of current NHS disaster that is looming.

Look at the UK and heed warning Australia.
