I must congratulate the staff and the pharmacist and the public for standing up and not giving in to the threat. But, can someone share what sort of standard procedures are in place to handle this situation. Just imagine a man with a gun pointed at your head (or the staff/ public) or one step ahead what if he/she shoots someone in the pharmacy and threatens to kill more, in this situation what would be the pharmacist/ manager be doing?? Still refuse to give out the drug and stand in the que to die ??

I had a robber enter my pharmacy. He was wearing a crash helmet and brandishing a double barrelled shot gun.

My only concern was did he have a bag big enough to carry out the drugs he wanted. They can all be replaced. That's what insurance is all about. Being heroic and standing up to such people is fine when you get away with it. What if I had done the same and one of my staff had been killed? I would never have forgiven myself.

The police caught the robber and sent him down for seven years. Don't be heroic, it could all go terribly wrong.

Remember, a shotgun opens more doors than a Barclay card!
