C+D scores awards hat-trick

C+D has scooped two pharmacy and one national award wins for the quality of its editorial coverage.
Pharmacy support group Avicenna gave C+D its top award for the title's support for independent pharmacists and named C+D news editor Zoe Smeaton as Senior Writer of the Year last week.
And four of C+D's team – CPD editor Chris Chapman, Zoe Smeaton and reporters Emma Weinbren and Hannah Flynn - were shortlisted at the national PTC New Talent Awards, which recognise the rising stars of UK journalism.
Zoe Smeaton scooped the New Section Editor of the Year Award last night, with the judges praising C+D's Fight For Fairness campaign, which uncovered millions of pounds-worth of prescription pricing underpayments.
Editor Gary Paragpuri, pictured with the C+D team at the Avicenna Awards, said: "While it's great to see the C+D team being recognised both nationally and by the pharmacy sector for the quality of its journalism, we certainly couldn't do it without the help of our readers and we owe a great deal of thanks to them for their continued support.
"And credit should also go to Avicenna for organising these awards for the pharmacy press – there's no better accolade than being told by your own sector that you're doing something right."
