waste is mainly due to over ordering...on the continent all medication has to be paid for, surely this is the way forward to prevent such waste, and menatlity of people refusing to buy it as the can 'get it on prescription for free'? As it is England will be going the same way of Scotland and Wales and make it a totally free for all! Anyone bought a Ventolin or Clenil inhaler off ebay recently? That's where they also go!

Most people would accept it as a given truth that anything provided for free is instantly devalued in the eyes of the recipient (or patient, in this case). Unfortunately no politician would vote for everyone paying for their medicines (however little) as they would be portrayed as cruel and heartless by the media and voted out of office at the first opportunity. And so it is that the waste gets worse and worse and worse and................................
