I hope the 'chattering classes' in Westminster back up their platitudes about community pharmacy with adequate remuneration that will sustain pharmacy businesses, many in the heart of local communities in neighbourhoods with high health inequalities and high poverty indicies.

This is what community pharmacists have strived to do. By providing these services we keep many terminal and elderly patients out of hospital which is an enormous cost saving to the NHS. We would however, like to see a fraction of this cost saving sent our way to help us to maintain these vital services.

Sadly probably money will not follow this . A well run community pharmacy has loads to offer particularly in the disadvantaged areas where accessibility to healthcare is an issue .
