The new 40g Anabact 0.75% w/w Gel joins the 15g and 30g size products in the range, and will encourage “cost-effective dispensing options”, the manufacturer said.

Anabact is the only metronidazole gel indicated for the treatment of malodorous fungating tumours, as well as gravitational and decubitus ulcers, Cambridge Healthcare said. It is clinically proven to rapidly reduce pain and infection, as well as discharge and odour, it pointed out.

The prescription-only gel is listed on medicines formularies nationwide, and is available from a range of wholesalers, it added.
