Pharmacists should be aware that Epiduo acne treatment is now only available in a pump dispenser, manufacturer Galderma has said.

Galderma discontinued the 45g tube packs of the gel – which contains adapalene and benzoyl peroxide – in January. However, it had remained on pharmacies’ dispensing systems for “several months”, it said.

Pharmacists needed to ensure their systems were updated with the correct information because some scripts for the prescription-only product would only specify that “Epiduo 45g” should be dispensed, the manufacturer said. There had been no change in pack size or price, it stressed.
