Hydration is biggest Ramadan health concern, Clinova finds
Hydration is the biggest health concern for Muslims during Ramadan, according to a poll conducted by Clinova.
A survey of 118 Muslims, conducted during Ramadan last year, revealed that 81 per cent had issues with hydration during the month-long fast, the manufacturer said. Muslims observing Ramadan – which began last week – must not eat or drink during daylight.
Fifty-seven per cent of respondents to Clinova’s survey said they found it difficult to drink enough water to remain “adequately hydrated” during non-fasting night hours, and the manufacturer suggested that its O.R.S Hydration Tablets could provide additional hydration if necessary.
The “convenient, soluble” tablets contained a formula of oral rehydration salts and were available in lemon, blackcurrant and strawberry flavours, it added.
Packs of 12 tablets retail at £4.99; 24 tablets are £6.99.
