C+D Awards unveil three new categories to recognise changing sector
The C+D Awards 2020 open for entries today, with three new categories to reflect the changes taking place across community pharmacy.
The 14 C+D Awards categories include the brand-new Business Innovation Award, Primary Care Partnership Award, and Public Health Champion of the Year Award.
C+D editor James Waldron said: “We’ve recalibrated the categories to reflect the exciting changes taking place across the sector.
“After the success of this year’s awards – our biggest ever – and excitement already building for next year’s ceremony, we're looking forward to another truly memorable event.”
The Public Health Champion trophy has been introduced to “celebrate the renewed focus on pharmacy’s clinical role”, while the Primary Care Partnership Award recognises exemplar cases of collaboration with primary care networks and GP practice pharmacists, Mr Waldron said.
The “pioneering work” of pharmacy businesses and their partners will be highlighted with the Business Innovation Award, he added.
The awards will also see the return of 11 much-loved categories, including the Pharmacy Design Award, Online Initiative of the Year, Community Pharmacist of the Year, Pharmacy Team of the Year and the Above and Beyond Award.
For its thirteenth annual ceremony, the C+D Awards will be returning to the Intercontinental O2 Hotel in London, renowned for its Thames-side location and stunning views of Canary Wharf.
Entries close on February 7, with the shortlist to be announced on the C+D website in March.
