In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the need to help prevent the spread of the virus and keep guests safe, C+D has made the decision to transform this year’s C+D Awards into a digital event.

The first digital ceremony in the C+D Awards’ 13-year history, the event remains as focused as ever on celebrating the achievements and contributions of community pharmacy and its dedicated teams.

The awards will be held on the recently launched C+D Community at 7pm on Thursday, November 26 and will be hosted by celebrated comedian Stephan Mangan.

A one-hour event, the ceremony will highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of the finalists across the 16 categories in this year’s awards, including 2020’s two new COVID HERO categories, and will be free-of-charge to attend.

Aiming to capture the entertaining and celebratory aspect of the physical awards, the C+D Awards 2020 will encourage engagement and participation from its virtual audience, with further details on how you can get involved to follow.

C+D editor Beth Kennedy said: "COVID-19 has made this one of the most difficult years in memory, but pharmacy teams from all around the UK have stepped up to the challenge in immeasurable ways. That's why we at C+D are determined to make this year's awards the biggest and best yet.

This year, the C+D Awards include two new categories: The COVID HERO – Outstanding Team Award and COVID HERO – Outstanding Individual Award.

Created to acknowledge the commitment and hard work displayed by community pharmacy staff members across the country during COVID-19 and the additional challenges the pandemic created for the sector, the COVID HERO categories remain open for entries until Friday, October 30.
