A 21-strong independent panel of judges selected a record-breaking 97 finalists across 12 categories.

The two brand-new categories – the Pharmacy Design Award and Online Initiative of the Year – proved to be some of the most popular with entrants, with the latter receiving entries as varied as digital pharmacy campaigns, an online tool to promote health services to patients, and locum recruitment platforms.

"The range of entries this year was truly impressive, with many new faces joining the household names," said C+D editor James Waldron. "I'm as excited as anyone to find out who the winners will be."

The winners will receive their trophies during the ceremony at five-star hotel and golf resort Celtic Manor in Wales on July 12.
