INDEPENDENT PHARMACY OF THE YEAR

 

Landys Chemist  


Landys Chemist is a multigenerational family business that has supported the local community for 40 years. Based in north-west London, for the past decade Landys has also served customers across the world via its website. Landys Chemist has a sharp focus on sustainability and responsibility to the next generation; it is plastic free and recycles the vast majority of its waste. Landys also supports local community initiatives to ensure it provides as much support to the vulnerable as possible.

 

Lewis Pharmacy   


Lewis Pharmacy built on previous experience to vaccinate more than 23,000 members of its local community against COVID-19, including chemotherapy patients. This was achieved with a newly formed professional and lively clinic team of doctors, nurses, students and volunteers assembled from local relationships. IThe dispensary team upskilled and embraced the new NHS services, GP-CPCS and DMS, working with other local healthcare professionals. Lewis Pharmacy also launched ‘Let's communicate Cancer’, an e-learning package for pharmacy staff.

 

Parkview Pharmacy   


The Parkview Pharmacy team includes its local community who have given up their time to help run a COVID-19 vaccination hub; directing patients, helping those less able-bodied and providing a cheery face to patients. To some of these volunteers, it has meant getting out of their homes, meeting others, talking to others, forging friendships and helping their own mental well-being. The pharmacy team has also forged relationships with other local healthcare professionals to ensure maximum coverage of COVID-19 vaccinations.

 

Smarta Healthcare 


Smarta Healthcare is dispensing hub offering pharmacy and healthcare services to patients, carers, businesses, residential and care homes, GPs and hospitals. In 2015, Smarta Healthcare began to provide services for people isolated or housebound. In 2018, it set up a health clinic, providing a place for people to access a range of services to improve their health and wellbeing. It adapted its services during the COVID-19 pandemic and to date has vaccinated over 3,000 individuals.

The Village Pharmacy Group is deeply committed to going above and beyond for its patients, the local community and its fellow team members, to make their lives as stress-free as possible. The teams work together to deliver person-centred customer service which results in 5* customer reviews. The pharmacy group has built relationships with all local GP surgeries, ensuring a close-knit community and better patient-centred care, but also helping to continue to develop the pharmacy teams’ skills and knowledge.
