In September 2019, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced that two products, Acnecide Face 5% Gel and Acnecide Face Wash 5% Gel, containing benzoyl peroxide, will be reclassified from a pharmacy (P) to a general sales list (GSL) medicine following a robust safety assessment.(
