In C+D’s latest podcast, clinical editor Naimah Callachand speaks to Dr Toni Hazell, a C+D clinical advisory board member and GP based in Tottenham.
Dr Hazell clarifies which patients are vulnerable and which patients fall into the shielding category. She has been telling vulnerable patients to exercise “stringent social distancing” to reduce the possibility of contracting COVID-19.
Dr Hazell highlights how despite having virtual clinics, GPs – like pharmacists – have not been seeing patients with the usual pathologies. This means that some patients are delaying seeking treatment for potentially serious illnesses.
