Internis Pharmaceuticals has launched a 90-capsule pack of its vitamin D deficiency treatment.
The packs of Fultium-D3, which contains 3,200IU of colecalciferol, were launched in August. They contained enough capsules to cover the initial 12-week repletion period necessary to treat vitamin D deficiency and were a convenient way to begin treatment in the months when inadequate sunlight restricts the synthesis of vitamin D3, the manufacturer said. After 12 weeks, patients could take a maintenance dose of Fultium-D3 800IU capsules, which are available in 30-day and 90-day packs, it said.
The new packs will be promoted to GPs and other healthcare professionals along with other Internis products, said the manufacturer, which will continue its vitamin D education campaign.
A 90-capsule pack of Fultium-D3 3,200IU has an NHS list price of £39.96 and can be ordered through all mainline wholesalers.
