Seventy per cent of pharmacists understand the ingredients and uses for topical analgesic Deep Relief, a competition run by manufacturer Mentholatum has suggested.
Pharmacists were asked to name the two main ingredients in Deep Relief and its use, and most respondents were able to answer at least one correctly, Mentholatum announced last week (October 21).
The two key ingredients in Deep Relief are levomenthol and ibuprofen – combining pain relief and anti-inflammatory action.
The competition attracted 543 entries between June and September and the winner of the prize, Lisa Sikotang of Cooks Pharmacy, Southfields, was announced last month.
"It was heartening to see so many people get both answers right, with most of the rest correctly answering one or the other," said Elvy Madjono, senior product manager for Deep Relief.
