Omega Pharma has launched a new indigestion treatment with a £2 million marketing campaign.
Rapidol Express, which launched in February, are chewable, peppermint-flavoured tablets that start working in “less than two minutes” and also offer “long-lasting relief” from heartburn and indigestion, the company said.
The launch is being supported by a marketing campaign including primetime TV advertising. Gastrointestinal training materials are also available for pharmacists and counter assistants, along with bespoke point-of-sale materials to signpost to the category in-store, Omega Pharma said.
The sugar-free tablets contain the compound Phycodol – made up of algae extract – and are suitable for children over 12 years as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women, Omega Pharma said.
Myriam Mizouni, manager of Omega Pharma’s Zantac range of heartburn and indigestion treatments, claimed the gastrointestinal category had undergone “limited innovation in recent years” and that the arrival of Rapidol Express provided pharmacy teams with a treatment that offered “the fastest symptomatic relief” available.
A pack of 10 tablets retails for £2.49 while 20 tablets are £4.49.
