Actavis introduces generic pregabalin capsules for epilepsy

Generics manufacturer Actavis has launched pregabalin capsules to treat epilepsy.

Lecaent, which launched last month, can be used as an adjunctive therapy for adults with partial seizures or generalised anxiety disorder, Actavis said.

The capsules are available in strengths ranging from 25mg to 300mg.

For the 25mg dose, prices range from £57.96 for a pack of 56 capsules to £86.94 for a pack of 84.

Lecaent is not currently licensed for the treatment of peripheral and neuropathic pain and should not be dispensed for that purpose, Actavis stressed.

Managing director Jonathan Wilson said Actavis’s “longevity and size” meant pharmacists could be assured patients were getting “high-quality” medicines.

To order, contact the Actavis telemarketing team on 0800 731 0370
