Actavis UK rebrands as Accord Healthcare
Generics manufacturer Actavis UK has rebranded as Accord Healthcare this week, following its acquisition by India-based Intas Pharmaceuticals in January.
Actavis UK managing director Jonathan Wilson said pharmacists will “see some changes”. “Well, one big change to be precise – and that’s our name.”
“Rest assured that we’re just as committed to UK manufacturing and excellent service,” Mr Wilson said yesterday (April 3), the day the rebranding came into effect.
As part of the rebranding, the Actavis scheme for independent pharmacies is being relaunched as “the Accord scheme”, he said.
“The Accord scheme combines all of the benefits from the Actavis Accumulator and partner pricing schemes, along with some brand new features designed to support your current purchasing preferences,” Mr Wilson added.
Actavis UK was sold to Intas Pharmaceuticals – through its subsidiary Accord Healthcare – as part of a European Commission requirement before Teva was able to buy the Actavis Generics business.
