AstraZeneca has renewed its direct to pharmacy distribution deal with AAH and Alliance Healthcare.Both wholesalers issued statements welcoming the extended agreement. AAH group managing director Mark James confirmed that the contract had been renewed for a further four years.Mr James said: “This is recognition of our ability to meet the needs of AstraZeneca and its customers.”AstraZeneca adopted the dual wholesaler distribution model in February 2008 originally. In a statement the manufacturer said the renewed deal recognised the “strong service provision” that had been established since then. Philippa Rodriguez, president of AstraZeneca UK, said: “We have established strong working relationships with both our distribution partners over the last two years.”
