This year’s list of 13 Awards include the two COVID Hero categories introduced last year to recognise an individual or team’s “resilience, dedication and initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The Pre-registration Graduate of the Year Award has been extended to include provisionally registered pharmacists, in recognition of the vital role they have played over the past year. Meanwhile, the Business Innovation Award is back for the second year to highlight the pioneering work of pharmacy businesses and their partners.

The coveted Health Initiative of the Year Award returns to celebrate the renewed focus on pharmacy’s clinical role, while firm favourite categories Community Pharmacist of the Year and the Above and Beyond Award aim to shine a spotlight on the best of the best of the sector.

With the remaining five categories also ready for entrants – Online Initiative, Training and Development, Manager of the Year, Independent Pharmacy, Pharmacy Staff Member and Pharmacy Team of the year – the C+D Awards 2021 is set to be celebration to remember.

After the success of last year’s virtual ceremony, the fourteenth annual C+D Awards will be returning to a physical event, held at the Intercontinental O2 Hotel in London, renowned for its Thames-side location.

C+D editor Beth Kennedy said: “After another incredibly difficult year for pharmacy teams, it gives me great pleasure that the best of the best of community pharmacy will finally be able to catch up in person over a drink against the iconic backdrop of London’s Canary Wharf.”

Entries close on August 11, with the shortlist to be announced on the C+D website in September.
