A 28-strong independent panel of judges whittled down 156 entries into a list of 97 finalists across 13 categories.

C+D’s brand-new category, the Above and Beyond Award, attracted 19 entrants, keen to showcase how they went the extra mile – sometimes literally – for their patients or the sector.

C+D readers will have the opportunity to vote online for the story of going ‘above and beyond’ which they feel is most deserving of the trophy, including a dispenser who braved heavy snow to deliver patients’ medicines by foot and a pharmacist who helped a patient through violent convulsions.

Online Initiative of the Year and the Pharmacy Design Award both returned for a second year, alongside perennial favourites such as Community Pharmacist of the Year and Pharmacy Team of the Year.

“There was a truly varied range of entries for 2018, showcasing the passion and innovation we see across pharmacy every day,” said C+D editor James Waldron. “The judges really had their work cut out to create this shortlist.”

The winners will receive their trophies during the ceremony at the glamorous Intercontinental hotel on Park Lane, London on July 4.
