A 20-strong independent panel of judges whittled down 154 entries into a list of finalists across 14 categories.
This year saw the return for third year in a row of the Above and Beyond Award, which attracted entrants from across pharmacy, keen to showcase how they went the extra mile for their patients.
C+D readers had the opportunity to vote online for the story of going ‘above and beyond’ that they felt was most deserving of the trophy.
Stories included the pharmacist who opened a pharmacy after it had been petrol bombed and the pharmacy worker who prevented a patient dying by suicide. The winner of the award will be announced at the ceremony.
C+D editor Beth Kennedy said: “Community pharmacy has faced an especially challenging year and, as always, has risen to the occasion with aplomb.
“That’s why we want this year’s C+D Awards to be the biggest yet – as recognition and a massive thank you to the teams from around the UK that helped the country keep going during the COVID-19 pandemic despite financial hardship and added workplace pressures.
“On behalf of C+D, I want to thank everyone who took the time to enter and judge the awards this year, and look forward to celebrating with you all at the event.”
The winners will receive their trophies during the ceremony at the glamorous Intercontinental O2 Hotel in London, on December 14.
