Mr Smith is due to jump out of a plane from 8,000 feet above Salisbury plain, south west England, next Friday (August 10).

He is hoping to raise £1,000 for the charity, which provides help and support to pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists and pharmacy students in times of need.

Mr Smith said: “I am excited to be able to do such a silly thing to support the amazing and vital work Pharmacist Support does for the industry I work in and am passionate about.”

Pharmacist Support provides pharmacists with “unique support” to help them stay in “peak condition” and provide safe and effective care, he added.

“Supporting the profession you work in is a no-brainer,” Mr Smith said.

Pharmacist Support chief executive Diane Leicester-Hallam said: “The C+D team have been such a great source of support to the charity in recent years, but we were particularly blown away to hear that Adam has very bravely volunteered to do a skydive for us. What a hero!

“We are right behind him (or rather below him!) and hope he really enjoys the experience."
