Co-operative Pharmacy launches new website with remote consultations
The Co-operative Pharmacy has launched a new website offering patients remote consultations with doctors and health assessments.
The multiple has teamed up with The-Clinic.com to offer diagnosis and treatment alongside an "extended range" of health and beauty products.
The service follows similar offerings from other multiples. For example, Lloydspharmacy acquired online doctor service Dr Thom from the company's founding directors in March this year.
The Co-operative Pharmacy website also offers customers the Co-operative health assessment in conjunction with website Roadtohealth.co.uk.
And appointments for "biometric" health testing at Co-operative Pharmacy branches could be booked via the website, a spokesperson said.
These tests would include blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol checks, they added.
The website features an A-Z health directory and NHS Direct symptom checker.
NHS Direct head of NHS partnerships Owain Davies said he was pleased NHS Direct would be available through the "huge reach" of the Co-operative Pharmacy .
"We believe that the trust the public has in both brands will mean more people getting access to appropriate local healthcare," he said.
Co-operative Pharmacy customers can also purchase medical electrical items, pet medicines and independent living aids online as well as mother and baby essentials and male health and grooming products.
Delivery for all orders over £40 would be free, a spokesperson said.
