'Daring raid' on Lloydspharmacy nets hundreds of pounds worth of perfume
Police call for witnesses following early-hours raid on Surrey pharmacy that saw three masked men use sledgehammers to break into a Surrey branch of Lloydspharmacy
Robbers stole hundreds of pounds worth of perfume in a "daring raid" on a Surrey Lloydspharmacy this week. Three masked men used sledgehammers to break into the branch on Haslemere High Street at around 2:40am on Tuesday (July 15), causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the store, Surrey Police said. The robbers fled with a "large quantity" of perfume in a turquoise Volvo estate car, but abandoned the vehicle on a road near Milford, police added. Detective constable Dave Bloomfield is keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the vehicle either before or after the robbery took place, or from anyone who had seen three men "hanging around" in the Milford area after the car was abandoned. Lloydspharmacy told C+D that no medication had been taken and no one had been harmed during the incident. The pharmacy had opened for business at 11am the same day after police had investigated the scene, the multiple added. Surrey Police urged witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting crime reference 45140058910, or to speak anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
