Staff at a Surrey Lloydspharmacy were left “shaken up” after being threatened by robber with a suspected firearm.

The company was "offering support" to team members in its Ashtead branch present at the time of the robbery on Tuesday (June 2), which saw a man make off with medicines, Lloydspharmacy told C+D yesterday (June 4).

Surrey Police said officers were called to the branch at 6.45pm on Tuesday after a man threatened staff and headed towards Ashtead Common with a “quantity of prescription drugs”.

The police described the robber as a white male who was wearing a dark anorak with clothing covering his mouth. He had his hood up and was also wearing grey jogging bottoms and dark footwear, the police added.

Lloydspharmacy thanked the "commitment" of its team for keeping the pharmacy open "as normal".

Surrey Police advised anyone with any information relating to the robbery to get in contact by calling 101 quoting the reference number P15141208.
