Manufacturer Mylan has recalled batches of its clarithromycin powder for infusion due to fears that they could be contaminated.
The MHRA issued an alert yesterday (June 18) for the recall of 14 batches of 500mg vials of the antibiotic, due to the possibility they contained "small particles of white material".
The medicines watchdog advised health professionals to quarantine all remaining stock.
