Revealed: Next 67 areas recruiting 'clinical pharmacists'
NHS England has revealed the 67 areas where its latest wave of GP pharmacists will work.
See the map below to find out which clinical commissioning group (CCG) areas the 83 participating GP practices are located in, according to NHS England’s latest data.
This wave follows the introduction of "clinical pharmacists" into sites in 40 areas across the country in April.
There are now “over 1,061 practices” employing pharmacists, following the rollout of NHS England’s Clinical Pharmacists in General Practice programme, the commissioner confirmed.
The expansion of the programme follows a 2015 pilot where NHS England recruited an estimated 490 “clinical pharmacists” across 650 GP practices.
The following year, the commissioner pledged to invest over £112 million to get an extra 1,500 pharmacists into general practice by 2021, to help relieve GP workload.
The latest list is “subject to change”, NHS England added.
