NHSBSA releases CIP error payment form
Fight for Fairness Contractors are now able to request rechecks of prescription payments following the release of a CIP error payment form.
Contractors are now able to request rechecks of prescription payments following the release of a CIP error payment form.
Contractors can have any of their prescriptions between the April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2011 rechecked for inaccuracies using the form available on the NHSBSA website.
The deadline for making requests is December 31, 2011, but PSNC has encouraged contractors to submit their forms as soon as possible.
A separate form needs be completed for each month that contractors wish to have checked. A separate form is also needed for individual pharmacies, should a contractor have more than one.
The NHSBSA, which has released a question and answer document regarding prescription-pricing errors, also warned that contractors risk losing any underpayments that they may have been owed when balanced with any overpayments.
The latest initiative is part of the £20m compensation package for contractors who had been affected by prescription pricing errors.
However, should contractors request a recheck of their prescriptions they could lose the £500 compensation they were entitled to originally if their payment errors are less than £750.
Accountant Umesh Modi last week described the compensation deal as "insufficient" and said that the amount should be up to 25 per cent higher.
